Lorna Menson is a T’boli weaver whose practice is shaped by years of observation, repetition, and careful work at the loom.

She began learning at 22, guided by her sister-in-law. Her training started with smambong, the process of spooling threads in preparation for the warp, and nearly a year of assisting and observing before she was able to weave independently.

Her first finished piece was a tubaw, a traditional T’boli woven head cloth. Since then, weaving has become both a livelihood and a practice she continues to refine with pride.

For Lorna, the work is not only about completing a textile. It is about understanding the material, respecting the process, and giving each piece the time and attention it requires.
