Marcél Lacap is a cultural worker and creative visionary rooted in the historic town of Batung Dalig, a place marked by the legacy of the Brave Young Hero of Macabebe who fell in the Battle of Bangkusay. He is the founder of TípaManík Studios, a creative collective dedicated to preserving and reimagining intangible cultural heritage through films, songs, and free educational materials that celebrate community memory, tradition, and identity. Through multidisciplinary storytelling, Marcél seeks to strengthen cultural awareness and connect audiences with traditions that might otherwise fade from collective memory.
Driven by a deep respect for Filipino histories and living traditions, Marcél combines artistic practice with cultural advocacy, engaging both local communities and wider audiences in meaningful dialogue. His work reflects an ongoing commitment to safeguarding intangible heritage—translating folklore, ritual, music, and oral histories into media that are accessible, engaging, and educational. By situating creativity at the intersection of culture and community, Marcél continues to expand how Philippine heritage is documented, celebrated, and shared for future generations.
