John Salcedo
John Salcedo, the artist behind Paint by John, is a self-taught Filipino artist and freelance instructor whose passion for the arts began at an early age. Starting with hand-painted tote bags, his work quickly gained recognition and community support, encouraging him to pursue art as a career. He has since collaborated with local and international brands, producing hand-painted bayong bags and expanding his reach to clients in Hong Kong, the US, and Canada.
Beyond creating, John is deeply committed to teaching and community work. He conducts workshops that guide aspiring artists in designing their own eco-friendly bayong bags while also sourcing locally made bayong from Laguna to support artisans. His efforts extend to helping children in rural areas, reflecting his belief that art should inspire and uplift. Dedicated to sharing his craft, John continues to champion Filipino creativity through both his works and his mentorship.
