Care Instructions

To maintain the quality of your brass jewelry, avoid contact with water and chemicals like bleach, perfume, bug spray, and sunscreen, as these can speed up oxidation. When not in use, store your brass jewelry in a dry environment and seal it in a plastic bag.

For cleaning, create a paste-like mixture using lemon juice and baking soda. Gently apply the paste onto the brassware using a soft cloth. For heavily tarnished pieces, leave the paste on for 30 minutes. Rinse with warm water and allow it to dry.

Sesotunawa: T'boli Artisans Craftsmen Brass

As a social enterprise, Sesotunawa represents the spirit of unity, derived from the T'boli words meaning 'to make one' (sesotu) and 'spirit' (nawa). As a community ethos, they empower T'boli artisans in Lake Sebu and help them showcase their unique art of Tau Temwel (brass casting) and Temool Lemimet (beading) to the world.

The art of Temwel involves transforming upcycled brass and other metals into intricate designs that pay homage to T'boli traditions, folklore, and their connection to nature. Led by Tau Temwel Joel Blunto and his wife Henia, the community has grown to include 9 brass-casters and 2 beaders.
