This piece is in honor of my grandfather Lieutenant General Manuel V. Cacanando who just passed away this November. This design is a nod to the Philippine flag because he was very nationalistic, but later I realized that the 3 stars also represents his rank as a 3 star General. The eagle represents his strength and valor. My lolo who I fondly call Upa is a man with a big, kind heart. I’m sure he’ll be happy to know that the proceeds of this piece will be used for a good cause
