Cameron Castrillo's deep passion for art stems from his family's history. His grandfather, Santiago Castrillo, started a custom jewelry business that soon became a family affair, with four of his siblings joining in on the creative process. Cameron grew up in this environment, surrounded by the intricate process of metal sculpting, watching his father and uncles create stunning sculptures in brass and other metals. In his teens, he worked as an apprentice during summer together with his cousins. It was this foundation which taught him the rudiments of metal sculpting , understanding the meticulous process and learning from his elders the figurative and abstract works in brass. His involvement and exposure with his uncle Eduardo Castrillo, has greatly inspired him to find his own artistic language and style
He has participated in numerous group exhibits including the Annual Sculpture Review, Visayas Art Fair, ManilaBang, the prestigious Manila Art Fair and held his first solo exhibit at the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.
