Makisig Barong Tagalog
Makisig Barong Tagalog
Given that the creations of Happy Andrada are designer made, we are proud to say that each and every single modern Filipiñana outfit is intricately made in small batches — and some creations are even one of a kind.
The barong tagalog which is commonly known simply as barong (or baro) is an embroidered long-sleeved formal shirt for men and it is a national dress of the Philippines that combines elements from both the precolonial native Filipino and Spanish Philippines clothing styles.
Promoting local fashion, this barong piece is made with love by communities and artisans from the Philippines.

Pineapple (piña) cocoon silk is a thin and delicate barong fabric. As such, please do NOT rub, scrub or wring these fabrics. Do not dry clean either; please do gentle hand wash only with a gentle clothing detergent — but only if you absolutely have to.
Spot clean as needed by running water over the dirty or soiled area. Gently apply just enough gentle detergent or soap with your finger to cover the area to be cleaned and run water over the area to rinse the soap off. Repeat as needed.
To straighten wrinkles and creases in your barong, use a steamer. Do NOT iron.
