Hailing from the serene, laid-back town of Bukidnon in Mindanao, Philippines, Denise was homeschooled and allowed to nurture a lifelong passion for art. As a self-taught creator, her artistic journey began at age 17 when, in a moment of creative curiosity, she painted on ostrich eggshells—a medium that would soon define her early career under the brand name “Ovalese.” Due to growing orders and support from her community, Denise chose to pursue art full-time instead of attending college, eventually moving to Manila to broaden her artistic horizons.

In the city, Denise expanded her practice beyond eggshell painting, returning to canvas, art paper, custom bags, jackets, and large-scale murals. Whether working with delicate eggshells or murals that transform urban spaces, Denise’s art remains infused with her roots, resourcefulness, and a fearless spirit of exploration.
