Difference is not always something that separates us. Sometimes, it is what challenges our understanding of identity, perception, and the many ways of being. Alterity explores the tension between familiarity and otherness, embracing the distinctions that make each perspective unique. What appears unfamiliar may simply be another way of seeing, existing, and understanding the world.

Jamie Samson translates her established Cubist Pop Art sensibility into textile through her developing Kinusaiga practice. Using carefully selected fabrics, she constructs her compositions through a deliberate process of cutting, layering, and hand tucking, investigating how the inherent qualities of textile transform familiar visual forms into tactile expressions of color and pattern.
